Stationery Looks Smarter When Labelled Using Equipment From Advanced Dynamics Limited
Bradford based Advanced Dynamics Limited has just installed a feeder and labelling equipment into the South West of England for use on card and paper products used in the office equipment industry. The ultimate destination of the finished packs are for a number of well known stationers.
This latest order for Advanced Dynamics Limited is for a special format HSW feeder manufactured by KöRa-Packmat, which has been mounted on a conveyor with a Eurokett labeller. Typical of the items labelled at the South West based company are sheets of B2 art board, which were processed by hand prior to the installation.
Air jets at the front of the machine blow air into the stacked card, which enables it to be lifted off the loading deck. Sheets are transported out using a vacuum drum that rotates in order to correctly position each sheet in the outfeed. The HSW feeder is capable of feeding and sorting 50 sheets per minute and can handle products up to 170g/m2 in thickness. Each sheet is electronically positioned using the machines integral pressure vacuum pump.
After the positioning of the sheets, they are fed to a Eurokett junior-115 baby labelling system also supplied by Advanced Dynamics Limited, to apply labels on the back of each sheet for corporate branding and pricing purposes.
The special format HSW feeder is capable of handling card and paper in a variety of sizes and can operate in continuous mode or manual depending on which is appropriate for the application.
Other key features include a light barrier for identifying missing sheets, built in self-diagnostics checking and PLC interface. The tray can hold up to 5,500 sheets which can be augmented with a non-stop magazine loading system as needed.
The Eurokett junior-115 is capable of undertaking a variety of labelling functions making it highly suitable for applications such as barcoding, putting on additional product information and producing promotional flash labels for the top of packages.
Commenting, Advanced Dynamics’ joint managing director Mike Essler says: “The HSW feeder was specially built in Germany in order to accommodate the unusual size of the card that the company needed conveying and labelling. In putting together the solution, engineers from Advanced Dynamics were required to interface the HSW feeder, conveyor and Eurokett junior to ensure that everything worked in a synchronised way.”
“Everything arrived in accordance with the agreed deadline, was tested, and installation hassle was kept to a minimum for the customer, and the project was completed on time. The solution is now fully operational and is providing significant labour costs savings over the earlier manual method, creating a ‘win-win’ situation for everyone involved.“ Added Mr Essler.
